Pisgah National Forest, Grandfather Ranger District-Half Day Tour
Half days in Pisgah are a perfect introduction to the amazing backcountry trail riding it has to offer. There are also many options for those looking to stay on the gravel roads.
Rider requirements:
Riders must be at minimum 12 years old and minors will need to be accompanied by a parent. Helmets are required and we recommend full suspension bikes or trail oriented hardtails. For gravel riding a true gravel bike is necessary. Road bikes can not handle the rough nature of the roads. Knee pads and other protective gear are at the discretion of the rider. Riders will also need to bring their own hydration and snacks.
Our guides will be well equipped with tools/spare tubes for any mechanical issues that may arise. They will also carry first aid supplies and a means of communication.
It is Important to note that e-bikes are not allowed on trails in the National Forest. We can not guide any clients riding e-bikes on trails. E-bikes are permitted on gravel roads within the National Forest. It is also important to note that most of our guides do not ride e-bikes even when they are permitted. While we are fit we are not superhuman and it is possible you will be able to ride faster uphill than we can if you choose to ride a e-bike.
